Chicken Jalalabadi

[Disclaimer: There is no connection whatsoever between the place Jalalabad, Afghanistan and this recipe.]

Ingredients:
A love struck unmarried (this is a must) couple
Chicken
Spices, salt, onion etc.
Any Indian recipe

Procedure:
Marinate chicken in ginger, onion, and garlic paste.
Heat oil in a pan.
Fry some onion until golden brown, add tomato and finally add the chicken along with the marinade.
Cover partially, put the heat to medium.
Come back to your living room and get involved in a romantic conversation (if you’re married you can’t have a conversation. However, there will be monologues and the male partner will pretend to listen. Hence, you can’t cook this dish!)
When you’re finished talking, go back to the kitchen, and open the cover. Don’t panic! The chicken IS supposed to look black and burnt.
Congratulations! You’ve made the ‘Chicken J(w)alalabadi’!

P.S. I found it very tasty, if not yummy. But Panchu Ginni (before she became ‘ginni’) vehemently protested and we ended up eating in a desi restaurant! After a few years Panchu Ginni recalls ‘I think we had cold (hence, stuffy nose) at that time. How come we didn’t smell the burning chicken?’ I disagree! When you’re in love, everything smells fragrant. :)
